Kosipo
Kosipo

The heartwood of Kosipo is brown to dark red-brown with a purplish glow. It is darker than Sipo for which it can be used as a replacement. The 20-50 mm thick sapwood is dull grey with a distinct transition to the heartwood.

Quality requirements
- Kosipo is included in the list of approved timber species for application in wooden façade elements (SKH-Publication 99-05). This means that frames with a KOMO® product certificate can be manufactured with Kosipo
Uses
- Furniture, panelling, stairs, parquet, yacht and boatbuilding, plywood, veneer and as a replacement for Sipo and Sapeli
Durability
- Resistance to fungi: class 2-3 (durable – moderately durable)
- Resistance to insects: Termites class M (moderately durable)
Density
- (600)-640-670-720-(800) kg/m3 at 12% moisture content
- Fresh 850-950 kg/m3
