Tree named after Wijma01-10-2010
A “new” tree was recently discovered in West Africa. Its botanical name is Anthonotha wijmacampensis, a reference to Koninklijke Houthandel G. Wijma & Zonen. Wijma operates forestry concessions in Cameroon where this species of tree occurs.
Wijma was the first timber company in Cameroon to operate concessions with the FSC certificate and the company has shown a great deal of interest in the classification of plants as an essential tool for effective forestry and appropriate use.
For this reason we are rightly proud that a tree species has been named after Wijma, precisely because of the efforts made in implementing good forest management in Cameroon.: submit wetenschappelijke tekening.pdf
