Bank protection in wood - FSC Ekki or FSC Tali
The most natural form of water retention:
Sheet piling and fender walls made of wood.
Wood and water form a good and logical combination by nature. Provided the right type of timber is chosen and the right construction is used, timber fender wall or timber sheet piling is both long-lasting, relatively inexpensive and, above all, simply beautiful!
Wijma´s sales department has a wealth of experience concerning the use of timber in civil and hydraulic engineering applications. Because we have acquired a good deal of expertise about all suitable types of timber over the years, and also have most species of timber in stock, we are able to carry out work with the minimum of delay.
Any simple orders you may have, such as large volumes of timber cut to equal length or thickness, can be straightforwardly processed by Wijma´s own sawmills.

Programme
Wattle mats are normally constructed from strips 5 - 7mm thick and 100mm wide, which are woven every 500mm. Standard fixing material for the strips are galvanised rivets, stainless steel rivets are available (on request). The mats can be supplied in heights of up to 200cm and in lengths from 200 - 500cm, with 50cm increments. The mats can be fitted with a porous, sand-resistant synthetic fabric.
The mats are often used in a joint construction with Azobé piles 40 x 40mm, 50 x 50mm or 60 x 60mm in diameter, with the guiding principle that the length of the pile is approx. three times the height of the wattle mat.
Clamped bulkheads are normally constructed from planks 100, 150 and/or 200 mm wide. Clamping distance is 1,000mm centre-to-centre, with the first clamp recessing 20 x 100mm, and the end clamp protruding 20 x 150mm. Standard fixing material for the clamps and planks are galvanised rivets, stainless steel rivets are available (on request).
Clamped bulkheads can be supplied in thicknesses from 15 to 30mm, the most common thickness being 20mm. The height of the bulkhead can vary from 40 to 200cm. Popular lengths are 200, 300 and 400 cm. A porous, sand-resistant synthetic fabric can also be supplied.
In the construction the bulkheads are often fitted in conjunction with Azobé piles 60 x 60mm, 70 x 70mm or 80 x 80mm in diameter, with the guiding principle that the length of the pile is approx. three times the height of the bulkhead.
Sheet piling is normally supplied in variable plank-widths from 150mm and up, and usually features a trapezoidal tongue and groove profile with a seeker on the groove edge. On request, 1:10meter wedge planks can be supplied. Standard dimensions for sheet piling are: up to 400cm long at 40mm thick, up to 500cm long at 50mm thick and up to 600cm long at 50mm thick, all with standard increments of 50cm. Other dimensions can of course be supplied as well, with 850cm long at 120mm thick being the heaviest dimension.
Clamps are normally supplied in falling lengths between 300 and 600cm.
Clamps are available in a wide range of measurements, with 50 x 100mm and 100 x 150mm being the most popular.
Available finishes: bevelled edges, straight or angled chamfers, or planed to size to fit UNP profiles.
